Share layouts with associate

I have a business associate that wants to use the layouts that I have developed.  He is using the same version of ACT2007, but he doesn't have any data.  So, there is no worry of corrupting data.

Any help to tell me if I can send him my layouts and field definitions will be greatly appreciated!

Re: Share layouts with associate

Go File | Save | Save an emply copy of the database

Then back it up and restore | restore-as on the other user's machine

Hi Mike,

I used your advice, but the custom layout that I had designed did not get saved when I saved the database as an empty database.  Do you have any further clarification.  I appreciate your help.

Re: Share layouts with associate

the layouts are not automatically copied. You can copy the Layouts folder in the Supplemental files Folder (under the Database folder) from the old database to the new one after creating the new database.
