Server crashed

Hello, Sorry to jump in without any intro, but I'm not an ACT! guy. Our server crashed and the ACT installation wasn't backed up (as far as I can tell) I do have a folder that looks like it has database files and I copied that to our new server. I installed ACT! and then tried to open those database files. No luck. the Error I get is "The database CTMContacts could not be accessed. In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify that your database server is available. It may be necessary to disable any firewall software on your computer or the server. I don't have any firewall and this is coming from the server itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 0Scott

Re: Server crashed

The PAD file includes the machine name - which would be the old server

Delete the PAD file and in ACT! go File | Open and change file type to ADF - this will check the database and re-create the PAD that you then give to the users to access the database on the new server
