Sending Activity email to Contact

When I schedule an Activity, I have the option to send an email to Contact to confirm item
I am getting a message that says "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
The email is not getting sent
Comments ?  Thanks much

Does it happen without that option selected?
Does this happen with any activity (new or editing one already created)?
At what point do you get the error - when selecting the option or saving the activity?
Does this happen in the demo database?
What exact version of ACT! from Help | About?
What email client?
Can you send emails from ACT! ok?

ACT is 10.0.1.199
email engine is Outlook, send regular and group emails OK
happens when scheduling new activity, and error message comes up when saving (click OK)
PS - not demo but rather working database
Database was recently converted and repaired, etc by ACT consultant
 
PS - do not ask, please why I do not go directly to him with this.............

It does not happen unless I want to try and do it
It has worked on some ocassions, I will keep on trying until I can figure it out
 
My ACC has moved from billling time to billing per job, and when he quotes he lists the items covered. If I then go to him with an item not on the original list, he gets difficult. We have been having issues for several years, but he knows my business well, and I am reluctant to change............

See if you can identify where it works and where it fails.
 
Was the problem there before the database was repaired? Maybe you have the argument that the job wasn't completed properly?
 
Or maybe look for another ACC for small one-off jobs on a timed basis.
