Search not working properly on just one of our Act! computers

Search not working properly on just one of our Act! computers

We have four PCs running Act! 2016.  The computer where the data resides is having trouble with searching for employees.  Searching for clients works fine but when searching for employees (set up as users, too) no results come back.

 

Any ideas on how to fix this?

How exactly are you performing this search?

Could you please post a list of the steps you are taking, that do not result in showing you a list of your database users?

Clicking on Lookup and then clicking on Last Name...

 

If I look up one of our employees on the Boss' computer there are no results.

 

If I do the same search from another PC in the office, it works as expected.

  1. On both machines, could you confirm the databases that are being accessed are the same?
    Go to Help > About Act > Database Information, then check the .ADF file path is the same on both machines in the window below.
  2. Are you logged in as the same user on both machine?
  3. If you create a new contact on one of the machines, does the contact appear on the other?
  4. Are the employees visible in the results of Lookup > All Contacts?
