I am using ACT! 2010 Premium and have a few duplicates records. When i run Scan for Duplicates, I see the Access level of the both 2 records to be merged are shown as Private, even though when you click on Contact Access tab on each individual record, the access is shown as Public.
May i know why and is there a solution?
PS: I didnt complete the merging process due to this abnormalities.

Before you begin merging your duplicate contacts, I'd like to recommend that you create a backup of your database (File > Backup > Database). This is just a precaution you should take whenever you are making major changes or deleting contact records.
The Duplicate Checking screen showing 'Private' is confusing, but it will not change the access level for your contacts. If they are originally 'Public', they will remain Public after combining them.
