Saving a lookout as a database

I did a query looking for all the contacts within a given state. I want to save that query as a separate database and then delete the contacts in that query from the original database.

Re: Saving a lookout as a database

You can populate a database with the contents of a Lookup.  To do this you will first need to create an Empty Copy of your database.  You can then perform your Lookup and Export the results to the empty copy of the database.  It will not remove the contacts from the original database automatically, but on the Contact List you can highlight multiple contacts and delete them all at once.

Steps for this process (Empty copy and export) are contained in this article: How to Export from one Act! database to another

Note: always make a backup of your database before deleting data (File > Backup > Database).
