Sage Act Pro 2012 Object reference instance

I have a local database of Sage Act Pro 2012, when creating a new record, I get an error popup "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".

The user told me that a new record was created intially, but it was deleted because of a typo. Now when trying to enter any new record, that error shows up. Looking up existing records works okay.

How can I fix this?

I uninstalled/reinstalled Act.

I ran actdiag deleted the preference, I also checked & reindexed the database. I'm still getting the "Object reference not set to an isntance of an object error" when creating new record.

Any other things to try?

Hello gudel,
Pull up all contacts in list view, sort by the Contact field, and delete any blank records (should be at the top of an A to Z sort). Then go to Tools > Database Maintenance > Check and Repair.

Also, try going into your duplicate checking preferences and disabling duplicate checking for contacts.
