I have 4 laptops setup in our office running Sage Act 2011. Three of the laptops have the same error "Cannot connect to (Smtp.ourmailserver)" (I am sure that is not exactly what it says).
The part that gets me is that they work incorrectly at inconsistent times. One of the laptops will not work while in the office, but works fine for her at home. The other works fine in the office but will not work from home at all. The third works all the time but requires refreshes and restarts to actually get it sent out correctly, at times, and the fourth seems to work correctly all or most of the time (no complaints from the user).
Naturally I would have assumed it was an ISP issue between the switching environments, but the inconsistencies between the laptops is what is confusing.
Also as far as I can tell, all of the E-mail accounts are from the same server, which I currently do not know who is hosting, and I have five desktops on the office connection which work great all the time.
