I have Windows 7 Professional on a Dell business laptop that I just received about a month ago; I run Kaspersky Antivirus along with Office, QB, etc for my business. I purchased ACT! 2011 and cannot get it to work - very frustrating. It installs fine but when I go to open/create a database, it says it cannot do it; so checking on the forums, it says to check the SQL server - it is not running so when I try to start it, it says the message about "The SQL Server (ACT7) started and then stopped, etc" Per the forums, i have uninstalled everything in the exact order as mentioned and reinstalled but same thing - have done this about four times. I have tried installing it with and without Kaspersky thinking that was the issue. I have shut off Windows firewalls as well as Kaspersky firewall but same thing.
I am at my wits end - I must be missing something in one of the settings? Please help
