SQL Server Database

I am trying to backup and move my database to my new PC.  I used PCMover to transfer some files to my new PC and I loaded the new ACT 2009.  However, it will not let me open a database on the new PC always stating either my SQL Database Service is not started or that there is a problem with my network connection.  I know my network connection is fine, so what is this?  I assumed loading the new software would be enough...why need more?

Re: SQL Server Database

Best way to move the database is to backup on the old machine. File > Backup > Database. Then ensure ACT is working OK on the new machine by opening the demo database. Once you are sure ACT is OK on the new machine restore the backup onto the new machine. File > Backup Restore.
