What do you mean?

You can create an activity and associate with an opportunity. You can then set activities to roll over. (Not recommended.) You can also create a group that tracks a date field in opportunities. E.G.: All Opportunities that have a estimated close date that has passed. You might be able to create a smart task that would update a date field but why do you want to do this?

In my case, I have created a date field titled, "Next Step Date".
I'm tracking many more than I can possibly clear in a single day, so I would just as soon have that date roll over, since I can not do a next step in the past if I haven't done it.
I can do a look up of next step date of today and prior. Like using F7 for standard activities, I would like to do the same in Opportunities. In fact, as I'm typing this, I would like to have the next step date show in the F7 lookup now that I think about it.

That would require custom programming.

Why not use the activity area of ACT? You can then set act to roll over calls. (I would not normally recommend this but in your case it seems the best solution.) When creating the activity just associate it to the opportunity. You can now use the task list to manage your work.

Good idea, but there are so many clicks to make the association. And this is an area in ACT that needs to be standardized as far as looking up the opportunity.
For the time being, I'll just used a saved advance lookup.
Have a good weekend
