Currently, my salutation line includes the first name of the contact and also the first name of the spouse, if any. For example, "John and Jane". The inside address on the "letter" template was easy to modify to accommodate this change as I just changed the first line to read "Salutation" and then "Last Name".
However, I am having problems on the envelope as the "last name" is overwriting on a portion of "salutation". I am sure there is simple way to fix this, but not sure how.

I copied directions from the online manual to remove blank spaces from envelope and label fields. They were straightforward, except for a couple of areas that I could use advice. Step 13 requires that a "Custom" field be inserted on the envelope. Unfortunately, I did not have a pre defined field called "Custom". Accordingly, I closed up the Design application and opened the "Define Field" menu choice and created a field called "Custom" in the contacts section. However, when I reopened the Design application, dropped the new "Custom" field on to the envelope and then opened the "Properties" option for the Custom field, the "Expression" menu choice defined in step 15 was not there. What did I do wrong? Is the "Custom" field supposed to be numeric as opposed to character?
