I have reloaded ACT 9.0 on to my new PC but have been unable to restore my saved databases. I receive the message "could not authenticate user or password, please try again." I did not set password security as I am the only user and I have tried any number of possible user names I would have used. What is the best way to restore the databases?

I was able to restore one of the two databases (entered the correct user name) and it restored perfectly. I have not been able to determine the "user name" on the second database. Is there a procedure for extracting this information from the zipped database?

Is the original machine still available? Can you go to tools manage users on the original machine? Other than that, try combinations of your first, first, last etc to guess it.
Your favorite ACT Certified Consultant along with Sage Database services may have additional toolls to figure this out if you are unable to guess properly.
