Restoring from Act! 6.0 to newly installed Act! 9.0

As far as I can tell, I have installed and registered Act ! 9.0 correctly and after several tries restoring from backup, (backup as) it keeps telling me that "the file you are attempting to restore from does not contain an Act! backup."

 

I tried creating the database first in 9.0 and then restoring but it forces me to create a new database in the restore process. 

 

I tried restoring without creating a new database in 9.0 with same results.

 

What might be the problem?

You can't restore an ACT! 6 backup to a later version of the ACT! program. Use WinZIP to expand the ACT! 6 backup and the open the ACT! 6 database with ACT! 9 and follow the conversion wizard.
