Act 8/2006 If remote databases are not synched to main, and it's necessary to reinstall main, is it necessary to create new remotes? If so, how can I save the data on the remotes. Can't synch to main to update before reinstalling, and act8diag brings up a debugger error. There are +/- 6,000 contacts. What's the best procedure?

It's a little messy, but i'd fix ACT on the or a server. Then bring in your master database and get it going. Set up sync on the new server. It is possible that you can try and move the location and try and sync the remotes at this point, but if not, you woud need to gather the remotes, load them on the server, and import in all activities that have changed.
It also might make sense to go ahead and upgrade if your are going through this errort especially if hte new server is not compatible with aCT 2006
