Remote database synchs but doesn't pull new records.

Remote database synchs but doesn't pull new records.

My boss can synch his database and see changes that he has made be synched but cannot pull any new records. The local database that manages the synchs shows that he hasn't synched in the past 8 days though.

Not sure if there is any other information that can help but if anyone has an idea please let me know!

Thanks!

Re: Remote database synchs but doesn't pull new records.

Hello Lee,

Welcome to the Act! Online Community!

Try running the Check and Repair option located under Tools > Database Maintenance menu.  Run the maintenance on both the remote and the main database, then sync again.

If that does not resolve the issue:

- What version of Act! are you running?

- Are there other remotes that sync successfully?

- Does the main database sync log show that the remote is connecting?  What are the messages it shows for the connection/sync attempt?

Re: Remote database synchs but doesn't pull new records.

Check and repair has been ran on both the main and the remote database. The problem still exists.

- ACT! 2009 (11) Version 11.0.0.367

- All other remotes sync with out a problem

- This is the sync log from the server...

Re: Remote database synchs but doesn't pull new records.

Since the sync logs both show successful for 10/20, have you looked at his sync set and compared to the data that is not going to his remote?  Does his sync set specify only a subset of data, or all?

If he is set to receive ALL data, I would check that updates he makes on the remote are syncing to the main database and if they are, go ahead and create him a new remote.  There may be some corruption with the current remote that isn't obvious (and not fixed by check and repair).
