I receive this error message when I try to access new updates:
"You do not have permission to download the updates. You must be a Windows Administrator".
The software is installed on two computers. I am listed as an Administrator in the Act program and in the Windows 7 operating system.
I'm running Premier Accounting 2006 - Accountants Edition. The build # is 13.0.00.039.
What's the solution?

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. Is your question in regards to ACT! or Peachtree? When we see this in ACT! on a Windows 7 or Windows Vista machine, it is usually caused by User Account Control (UAC). You should be able to resolve by disabling UAC from the User Accounts option in your Windows Control Panel. Also, I'm not sure how well a 2006 version of a software (which would have been developed in 2005) is going to work on a Windows 7 machine. I know that ACT! 2006 is not supported on Windows 7.
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
