Registration Needs to be Reset in New Computer

After I installed ACT! 2010 in my new computer o/s Windows 7 I keep getting the display asking me if I want to register Act or continue with the trial.

When I enter my Serial# I receive message that I am already registered, but I still receive the Trial or Register each time I sign on.

I was told by an Act rep that he would reset the registration, but that did not solve the problem.

In 12 days I won't be able to access ACT if I can't solve this problem.

Hopefully, someone can help me.  I have the disk: wonder if reinstalling it would work. License: 1

Thanks.

Re: Registration Needs to be Reset in New Computer

Greetings,

If you go into windows services (click on the start menu and in the search bar type in services.msc) and check to see that the protexis licencing service is running. Start the process if its not running and restart it if it is running.

hope this helps.

Re: Registration Needs to be Reset in New Computer

Since you are running on a Win7 computer, try running Act! as an Administrator.  To do this:

- close Act!

- right click on the Act! icon

- select Run As Administrator

- Act! will open

If it now recognizes the registration, you can either disable UAC on the computer or set Act! to always run as an Administrator.  To always run as admin:

- right click on Act! icon

- select Properties

- select Compatibility tab

- put check mark in box at bottom for 'Always Run As Administrator'

- click OK to apply and close window

- open Act! as normal by double clicking on Act! icon
