Re: Recording email history

Tom,

If you go to Tools, Preferences and then Email.

Item 1. Step through the Wizard and when you get to E-Mail Record History what is the option set to there, could be a start.

Item 2. Create and email from ACT and then when Outlook opens the is a menu called Add-ins and there should be a custom section here that shown the ACT history options, what is that one showing. I have it set to None in Item 1 but select to record histories for individual emails.

Hope this helps

Re: Recording email history

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your input but I don't appear to be getting anywhere.

email wizard.

email system = ms outlook

email editor = ms outlook

type of history recorded = emaill subject only

type of history that will be recorded = email subject only

Tried creating an email and chose the "add in" feature but don't see an option to modify history setting!

still stuck but thanks for your suggestion

Tom,

Have you added the ACT! address book to Outlook?

Outlook 2002/2003 as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article - http://tinyurl.com/6ypgvu

Re: Recording email history

Hello.  I am new to this.  How do I prevent certain emails from posted to history where it can be seen by others?  We have 3 owners in our company, and they would prefer to keep their management emails private from the rest of the ACT! users in our office.  Is there a way to do this before the emails are sent?  I know that email messages can be made private after the fact, but is there any kind of filter that we could use?  Thank you very much for your time.

Re: Recording email history

You can change the setting when sending the email if it's just for some emails.

For what it's worth, we just wrote an plugin for a user that makes all sub items (History inc emails, Notes, Sales Ops and Activities) when linked to a User record private.

We could possibly customise this for you for a fee if you need this.
