I have been running ACT 2008 on my Windows 7 machine for about a year now with no issues. During windows updates, service pack 1 was installed which completely screwed my machine (I suspect this is a Windows problem!).
ACT! will now not run. I have tried to System Restore with no success and also remove and re-install ACT! with no success. ACT! will still not run.
My problem now is that I cannot access my database bacause ACT will not run. I saved the 3 database files and the directory, but as it was not created using the "Backup" procedure, I cant acess it even on another machine ! I have no backups of the data.
Can somebdy help me to save my sanity ????

Can you provide some more detail as to what is happening when you launch ACT!? Are you getting an error message? What is the message?
Are you able to create a new database (File > New Database)? If not, what is the error message?
