Re-installation problems - ACT! for Financial Professionals v.12

I am trying to re-install ACT! for Financial Professionals (ver. 12) after the original installation decided to stop working. Thankfully, this was before I had begun to build anything meaningful in my database.  Sage sent me a new download link for the installation.  I removed the previous (non-working) installation using Revo Uninstaller so that the registry could also be cleaned out (operating system is Vista Professional) during the re-installation.  Now when I try to run the install program it tells me there is a previous version of ACT! running that I must uninstall first.  I can find no instances of the previous version on the computer.  Can anyone help me with this?

That's a pesky problem. ACT! has detected the previous SQL instance. You'll need to do the following steps in this KB article:

After you have done all that, reboot your computer, and retry the install.
