Question

My office currently uses ACT 2006 8.0.2.82 .    We use it for a contact database for us salesmen here at our car lot.  I have been here for 6 years but now I have 2 new sales people try to "cheat the system" so to speak.   One on them has found out that you can go to the History tab and click on the Record History Button and record a new history under someone  else's contact..Even change the record manager.  All this can be done even tough they are not listed as an admin just listed as standard.  If anyone has any suggestion on how to block this I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Chris Whitney

Re: Question

Go to Tools | Preferences | General tab and uncheck Allow History Editing.

Re: Question

I dodn't know off hand if that preference setting is stored with the database or if it is related to the machine. Also it may only block editing the details.
