Query Sort

I have used Act for several years but just recently upgraded to 10.0. In the query function you used to be able to create a query that had built in sort.
1) Can I do that in 10.0?
2) If not can I create a macro to run the query and then run a sort?

Re: Query Sort

I don't think including a sort in a query has ever been an option in ACT!

I could in 6.0. Is there a way to create a macro that would run a query and then run a sort?

Re: Query Sort

Where in 6.0? I would think only with a macro would it be done.

No macros built into ACT! 2008, but if you do a Google search for windows macros, you'll find a range of products that will do this

Re: Query Sort

In both the "By Example" and Advanced Query" pages there was a "Specify Query Sort" button. It would save the sort in the query. will

Re: Query Sort

That capability evidently was provided by an add-on because the standard install of ACT! 6 did not have that capability.

Re: Query Sort

Actually, I just loaded up ACT! 6, and this was an option under the Query menu in Example and Advanced queries.

Unfortunately, it's not included in 7.0 and later.

Re: Query Sort

Yes,

It was an option in Act 6.0 and i used it to save 3-4 different sort queries. All I had to do was click on the name of the query and I had a different sort criteria.

This would be really helpful to me in Act 2011.
