We have just upgraded from Act 8 to Act 2009 and are slowly working through some of the differences to benefit from the upgrade. However, we have found one area that seems to be a step backwards that makes creating a new opportunity much harder. I will explain.
In Act 8 when we created a new opportunity on the products/services tab we would go to the first cell in the "Name" column and start typing one of our product part numbers such as ":352A22. As we typed the list jumped to the first matching part number so by the time we had typed ":3" the box was showing ":300A01" for example. Then when we put in the next character we got the next best match eg ":35" showed ":350A01" and so on until we had the product we wanted. Then we just tabbed out of the cell and it filled in the rest of the line to show Item #, Cost etc.
Now in Act 2009 this has disappeared and it is difficult to select the "Name" cell and also if we type into it it doesn't auto complete or fill in the rest of the line when tabbed out. It seems that we need to select from the Item # list and then it auto completes the rest of the line. We have tried swapping the columns in the product list to have the part number in the Item # list but this still does not give exactly what we had before and makes it much more cumbersome to use.
Is there anyway to change this functionality back to what we had in Act 8?
