Problems saving ACT templates with Office XP

Hi all..

There were a few posts on this last year and I've tried all of the suggested solutions but nothing seems to work..

ACT 08, Windows XP, Office XP

Word won't allow me to save a file with the ACT  .adt suffix - it doesn't come up as an option. If I Save As .doc or any other suffix and then rename it in Explorer, it does appear in the useable ACT templates, but then when I try to create the email with the template Act crashes with the message Path is not of a Legal form"

I've also tried using and renaming an existing template, but get the same problem

Can anyone help ?

Re: Problems saving ACT templates with Office XP

I saw a recommendation to save the template with quotes around the name. ie:  save as "template.adt" with the quotes. have you tried that one?

Re: Problems saving ACT templates with Office XP

Thanks Matt but I tried this and it doesn't work..

It seems that anything that involves 'Save As' doesn't work. The solution I found was to copy & rename an existing template in Explorer, and the cut & pasting into the new document and then Saving after editing the template with Act/Word..

Thanks anyway..
