Problem with hanging up

Using Act by Sage 2008, We don't want to have to click on Hang up when ending a call; just hanging up the headset should be enough.  We were doing this on this same version of Act before that computer died and we had to reinstall it on a different one.  In doing this we've switched from using an external modem to an internal one.  Everything works the same except this feature, which my husband hates.  How does this work?

Unfortunately, there isn't a preference to change this.

My guess is that the internal modem is a Winmodem. Basically it's a modem done in software and often results in the problems you are seeing.
