Problem with attaching files to history after windows 7 update

This morning I did the latest windows 7 update and it seems that Act now crashes when I attach a file to a history (using shortcut).

Anyone else having this problem?

I am using Act! Pro Version 17.1.169.0 on a windows 7 machine ( Ultimate N, servicepack 1)

Hi Maris,

This issue might have been solved with an update to your version of Act.

Please check what regional version of Act you are running and download the latest hotfix or update for your version.

After updating, please try attaching the file again.

Re: Problem with attaching files to history after windows 7 update

Hi Gary,

My version of act dates back to 26 Feb 2015 (download date) so I assume that I will only need to download the hotfixes released after that date. Or do I just take the latest hotfix?

Re: Problem with attaching files to history after windows 7 update

If you want to update to the latest version of Act v17, then download Act! Pro v17 SP2 Update - EU/UK. This will include any missing hotfixes. If you are sharing the database, all machines will need this update to access the data again.

If you currently on v17.1, and do not want to update to v17.2, you only need to download Act! v17 SP1 Hotfix 4

Hi rmjm125.

What happens when you try to attach a file of any type to an Act contact using the controls on the Documents tab?
Are you using the Outlook add-in to attach emails to Act?
Please give us as much detail as possible.

OK so: -

running ACT! Pro ver. 18.2.53; update 4

outlook ACT integration all set correctly.

ACT! address book in Outlook set correctly

using ACT! addins to attach historical emails.

Result!  It's stopped working.

Please could you have a look in the Outlook history recording application for the reason why the emails are not attaching?

To open this application, right click on this icon in the system tray and select "Show Progress" -  2016-12-09_11-38-14.png

Check in the "Not Attached Messages" tab and look for the status column on the right.
