Problem with ACT V7 to ACT V13

I had ACT 2005 V7 on a XP machine.

I bought a new machine with windows 7. So I have two machines, one with win XP and an other with win 7.

Due to this configuration, I needed to upgrade my ACT software and I bought ACT 2011 V13.

I installed ACT V13 on the win 7 machine (as administrator).

I uninstalled ACT V7 from de win XP machine in order to install ACT V13 on this machine (as administrator).

I restored my database (built with ACT V7) in ACT V13 (master) : OK !

I created a remote database (no firewall) for my win 7 machine (slave).

On the win 7 machine, I restored the remote database.

During the new database's control (two exceptions occured). But I could see the new database with all its attachements.

When I added a new document to this database (win 7), it was OK.

But after a synchronisation, there was only the name of the document in the other database (win XP)  and the file was empty !

The opposite give the same result !

Can somebody help me ???

The assistance in Paris can't...

It's very critical for me !!!

1. What were the exception errors?
2. What exact build of ACT! from help | about?
If not 13.1 + Hotfix 4, you should update with SP1 and then HF4 for SP1
This MUST be done on ALL systems sharing the database.

After upgrading, I'd cut a new remote from the Publisher

The version I'm using is ACT ! Pro 2011 13.1.111.0, HotFix4.

I can't update with SP1 because I have a french version and SP1 is not available in France...

I don't know what kind of exeption I have. If you give me a email adress, I can send you the report (after the remote database's control)

I'm sorry, I'm not a software specialist : I run a recruitment agency !

The helpdesk in Paris told me SP1 were a new pack....

This is only what I find "strange" in the report...

 

I have only this problem with a database created with ACT V7. A new database built with ACT V13 works perfectly...

There are two possibilities...

 

1. Not sure if there's some issue with the French version updating from ACT! 2005 - were both set up as French?

 

2. The old databases have something damaged... see this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

If it still won't work, the last item tells you to send to database services ... not sure if this applies still or in every country, but databases that fail Schema Updates are usually fixed and converted at no charge

I'll try to repair the main database following the instructions. Hope it will work...

Download ACTDIAG V14 from the knowledge base first... works with any version of ACT! and has a few extra features

It didn't worked.

I'll try to send the database to the US. Hope they will succed in repairing it...

Otherwise I think the last chance is to build a new database with a new layout and do an export of the datas, isn't it ?
