I have Sage ACT! Pro 2012 Version 22.214.171.124, Hot Fix 7
Is it possible to have ACT! access my database files on my hard drive on Google Drive (which is a file on my hard drive)?
If so exactly which files need to be placed there?
The advantage I can potentially see is that since the Google Drive is duplicated on their cloud this would both act as a "backup" and enable possible access to the database from another computer (in which I would have ACT! installed).
Any comments on this plan? Has anyone already done this successfully?

I just read through your linked article about using Drop Box for the ACT! Backup file.
I would assume that positioning the ACT! compressed Backup file in Google Drive should be no problem.
Do you happen to know if ACT! is considering how to follow the very clear direction to Cloud-based software such that we will use devices as simple access platforms (like Google's Chromebook series does, for example) instad of the current clunky on-drive software that requires unending updates, patches and other kludgy, fix-its?
Seems inevitable. Remember Kodak?

Since ACT! can't have the database accessed directly from Google Drive (on the Cloud, not on my hard drive file for that service) then where is the Browser access capability that you have mentioned?
Having ACT! keep all updates, patches, etc. taken care of instead of trying to become an IT expert myself (or having to hire one separately every time there is any change large or small) is more than a little appealing.
PS - I looked at your history but could not find the 1998 mention.
