Phone default code issues...

Somehow, when adding a new contact into my ACT! 2009, the default code for the phone and mobile is Stanislous (1), which is free form.

I have clicked on the edit box to the right of the phopne and mobile fields, entered the United States as my default, and though it works for the existing new contact, the very next new contact entry reverts back to the Stanislous (1)...!

What can I do to fix this... please help!

Sounds like your country list in the registry has some incorrect entries (Stanislous).  You can find the country list here

 

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Telephony\Country List

 

Try searching the registry for Stanislous and see if any of the results fall under the path above.

- Go to Start and select Run

- Type regedit and click Ok

- Select My Computer in the left pane.

- Go to Edit > Find.

- Type Stanislous and leave everything checked except for "Match whole string only." and click Ok

Also check what your My Record has in the Country field - make sure it says "United States"
