Performance settings

Searched but haven't located any current KB articles about maximizing network performance.

Are there settings in memory, performance or networking that we can use to ensure the setup is best it can be?

Running 4 W7 Pro machines using ACT 2011HF5 accessing a dedicated brand new W7Pro64 box with 4GB Ram and mirrored RAID "P" data drives.  This box does NOTHING but host the act DB and I have ACT 2011HF5 installed but not running on this machine (for Sql).

Moved the DB to this new box with a Backup/Restore.

Performance seems reasonable, just wondering if I need to look at any settings on this "server".

Thanks as always for the great help from my Act bretheren.

Re: Performance settings

No performance tweak settings?

In the meantime I reviewed some articles about tweaking W7 networking with various settings, disabled lots of startup items.

But Act continues to hang under certain requests.

Interestingly Outlook has decided to become slow also.

Perhaps because it is referencing the server with the act address book across the network?

Re: Performance settings

Presently my ACT Db and some associated client files live on their own RAID1 Hard Drives on a W764 "server".

It only consumes about 8GB now and at most that grows another 50% in a year.

What if I switch the mirrored HDD to Mirrored SSD.  Help performance?

I like the mirrored concept because it keeps me from having to recreate.  Just keep motoring with degraded RAID until I replace the other.

Thoughts?
