Performance ACT 2006 vs. 2009

We are currently at ACT 2006 on a Windows XP  (600 MHz Pentium® III processor / 512 MB system memory). Can anyone say if the preformance will be improved or be worse if we upgrade to ACT 2009 (version 11)?

The performance should be better but you have a very marginal system. You did not list the hard drive RPM but I suspect that it could be 4200 RPM and 7200 RPM or faster is the recommended speed.

It is impossible that SQL 2005 and .net 2.0 performances should be better on this computer than MSDE.

I really suggest you to think about a computer upgrade before an ACT upgrade Smiley Wink
