Outlook does not show in ACT 11 set up! Help!

When using the setup assistant to install the ACT 11 Outlook addins, the box you use to pick your system is blank.  It does not show Outlook or Outlook express.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, i have also used the ACT uninstall tool to make sure it was complete.

Help.

Re: Outlook does not show in ACT 11 set up! Help!

Please try this, I want to see if there is a relationship here:

1) On the machine in question, close ACT! 2009 and open the control panel | add/remove programs option.

2) Find the line item called "Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable -x86 9.0.21022" and remove it from the system (repair does not fix this).

3) From your ACT! install media, open the folder called "Dependencies".

4) Launch the package called "vcredist_x86.exe" and allow it to install on your machine.

5) Next, open a command (DOS) window and navigate to the installed location of ACT! i.e.(%Program Files%\ACT\Act for Windows)

6) From this location, execute these commands in this order:

a) actemail -unregserver
b) regasm /unregister Act.Framework.Interop.dll
c) regasm /unregister Act.Application.Interop.dll
d) regasm /codebase Act.Application.Interop.dll
e) regasm /codebase Act.Framework.Interop.dll
f) actemail -regserver

7) Launch ACT

Assuming ACT! is installed in the default location, type these commands in CMD prompt.

c:

cd C:\Program Files\ACT\ACT for Windows

Re: Outlook does not show in ACT 11 set up! Help!

I'm not quite sure how it worked, but now it is working.

I completed steps 1-4, downloaded & installed Itunes, reopened Outlook, it asked to configure the ACT address book and now it works.

Go figure.  If this holds I will update later.

I've done all of those steps that you told but it's still no email systems to choose in the box.

This is the results that I get.

Re: Outlook does not show in ACT 11 set up! Help!

I already remove Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redustributable and install the package vcredist_x86.exe.

That's fine for install it but the email's still not working. What is the result do you want from the steps1 through 4.

Re: Outlook does not show in ACT 11 set up! Help!

I am trying your procedure to get Outlook to show up in my Act! option list.

When I get to step 4)  there is no "vcredist_x86.exe" in the dependencies folder of my disc.   ???

Re: Outlook does not show in ACT 11 set up! Help!

I'm having similar issues with Outlook and I'm trying to follow your instructions. However, I keep getting an error message "Too many Parameters" when I type in the following in the Command Prompt:

c:
cd C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows
