Occasionally while working on a new email in Outlook, if our user switches to ACT (to make a note or look something up) then switches back to the email, Outlook will lockup. When this happens, Task Manager shows the ACT-Outlook service with a red X – apparently indicating that it has crashed. The only way to get Outlook going again is to end the task and restart.
We're using ACT Pro v19 (w/latest patches), single user with database stored on local HD.
Outlook 2016, 34-Bit version installed on local HD.
Windows 10 Pro.
My research seems to suggest that the ACT/Outlook integration is notoriously unstable. Is this just something we have to live with, or can it work reliably and there's something wrong with our configuration?
