Outlook 2016 Act 19.2 integration not working

[ Edited ]

Giving Act another kick at the can, have spent the day trying to get email integration to work

Running trial of Act! Pro Version 19.2.146.0, Update 2

Outlook is not available in Preferences

Act Add-in is available in Outlook, but doesnt attach email's/sync  (Unable to cast COM object type)

I've went through and removed updates to Outlook now on build 16.0.4.....

Deleted/reinstalled Act

Verious KB's and patches

Occasionally get a 32 bit Act.outlook service has stopped

Suggestions?

Thanks

Re: Outlook 2016 Act 19.2 integration not working

Hi Oldlaxdude,

While update 2 should of resolved the issue with Outlook missing from the Act! Preferences. I would like to know if the list is empty or do you see 'Internet Mail' as there are two separate solutions. I have provided the articles below:

14425 Outlook® is Missing as an Option in the ACT! E-mail Setup

23426 List of available e-mail systems is empty in the E-mail Setup Wizard

Regarding the Act.outlook.service crashing this can be due to an item in the History queue and may need to be reset. This may also be the reason any future emails you send are not recording.

To reset the HistoryQueue, firstly please ensure the Act.outlook.service is not running.

Navigate to: %appdata% or 'C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ACT\ACT Data'

Rename HistoryQueue to HistoryQueue.old

Once this is done restart the Act.Outlook.Service from a location below:

64-bit OS

Act! Pro or Act! Premium: C:\Program Files (x86)\ACT\Act for Windows
Act! Premium (access via web): C:\Program Files (x86)\ACT\Act for Web

32-bit OS
Act! Pro or Act! Premium: C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Windows
Act! Premium (access via web): C:\Program Files\ACT\Act for Web

Once this is done you can copy the .tmp files from the .old folder to the new HistoryQueue, I would recommend copy small amounts at a time to prevent a bottleneck that may stop the emails recording or cause the service to crash.

You need the latest Hotfix.

Link to article and download link here.

Regrettably I have found this does not work in all cases but must be worth a try.
