Outlook 2010 not 'joined' to ACT 2010, yet ACT still syncs with Outlook's calendar?

Hello folks!

I am aware that ACT! 2010 and Outlook 2010 don't play nice with one another [unless this workaround is used: http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/26713/~/act!-by-sage-compatibility-with-mic... ], and this workaround WAS used on this user's machine [until she suffered horrible IE scripting error issues and so we removed the workaround] so then she was unable to automatically create emails fin Outlook from ACT [which is minor].

Given that the workaround was removed, it appears that something has... lingered? The calendars from both applications are syncing. ACT Alarms are going off all the time and it doesn't appear that alarms can be easily disabled, if only because there is no way

According to the user, this alarm problem sprang up on its own, with no change aside from standard daily use. I can't "unsync" it since ACT doesn't recognize any mail system as being on the computer.

Any ideas?

Hello hashisayed,
The integration is configured in the preferences file. This may be resolved if you manually rebuild the ACT! preferences file. This should also completely remove any Outlook integration with ACT! 2010 since you are using an unsupported version of Office. Follow the steps in the bottom half of this Knowledgebase article to manually rebuild your preferences:

For integration with ACT! 2010 and Office 2010, have you tried this add-on? http://www.designr1.com/shop/act-word-2010/

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
