I downloaded and installed Act!2013 Pro and it looked pretty awesome.
But when I set up the sync to Outlook 2010, Outlook 2010 froze. If I disabled sync, Outlook was fine. Re-enable sync, Outlook froze. I saw the Act knowledgebase has this listed as a "known issue" with a hotfix. I wanted to save time not spend more time on software. So I uninstalled and will check back in another 6 months.

I believe you are referring to the following issue resolved in the 2013 Service Pack 1 update:
"Outlook activity sync hangs when syncing timeless recurring activities with a 1 day+ duration"
