Outlook 2007 / Act! 2009 - Crash

When creating a new e-mail and clicking the To... button to access Act! and get an e-mail address, at least once daily, or more often, Outlook crashes.  Here is the log:

Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 12.0.6316.5000, time stamp 0x4833a470, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a7a6, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000b015d, process id 0x15ac, application start time 0x01c90c98a1548e16.

I have all of the service packs, patches, and updates for Office 2007, Act! 2009, and Vista.

Any ideas?

Try running Office Diagnostics from the Help menu in Outlook.  Also if you an add-on to Outlook called Business Contact Manager(BCM), then I would advise uninstalling (preferred) or disabling the add-on for BCM in Outlook.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

ghollister,

I did as you suggested but to no avail.  Upon fresh boot this morning after corrections and removal, I tried it first thing adn immediately threw the exception.  Then, as soon as Outlook restarts, I can access the Act! address book instantly.  I will review the addtional add-ins and see if there is anything else that can be turned off.

MrWright,

Remove your database address book and add the demo database.  If you do not get the error with the demo database, then its probably an issue with invalid email addresses.  What you can do it add the email address column to the contact list and look for an invalid characters.

dlunceford,

Thanks for the suggestions.  Here are the results.  If I remove my primary database and just leave my secondary database, it opens without incident.  Then, still leaving my secondary database as default, I re-add my primary database, it works without incident.  As soon as I make my primary database default, it fails instantly the first time, then works just fine after that.  I reviewed my e-mail addresses for anomalies and did not find anything unusual.  My database contains just over 800 e-mail addresses and just over 1,800 contacts.

Any other suggestions?

I'm now having this same problem and have corrected all of the email addresses that were bad, but it's still crashing. Is there a solution?

Thanks.
