Opportunities fields locked as System fields. I want them editable.

Using ACT! 12.1

Have begun adding data to an exising dbase and want to add new opportunities.

I have found that the Gross Margin field and the Total and Weighted Total fields are classified as System Fields and we cannot enter or edit data in them.

Anyone know how I make them into just normal editable fields?

OK, so I have found a way around this which is to enter products and costs and prices into the "Products/Services" tab and this enters values into the three fields which I wanted to edit directly.

There isn't an option within the program to make these fields editable, an add-on may be available that will be able to update them (Act! Add-ons).  I'd also like to ask why/how you'd like to edit these fields?  There may be other options available.

The reason I want the fields editable.

Perhaps I am missing something but I thought the sales people input how valuable the opportunities are.

So far I can't see how to get values into the opportunities fields I mentioned above.

The previous guy who was working on this dbase has values on his opportunities so there must be a way.
