Opening a more current database on a secondary computer

My primary desktop computer recently crashed before I could make a backup of the "live" database.  I was able to move the component ADF, PAD, etc. files to a secondary computer, however, and would now like to access the live database on that machine.  Browsing through the Knowledgebase it looks like you can start the database using the ADF file although it's not completely clear as far as how to do it.  Would appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Hello Novatosteve,

Welcome to the Sage ACT! Online Community!

To open the database using the ADF file:

- Rename the existin PAD file (ex: add '.old' to the extension)

- Open Sage ACT!

- Select Open Database option

- Change 'Files of type' option from PAD to ADF

- Browse to ADF file

- Select ADF and click Open
