Only getting history of e-mail on sent items

Using Act 2010 and Win 7

I have set up act to update the history for both incoming and outgoing e-mails of contacts. Went to Tools > preferences > e-mail > system setup > and selected "from" and "to" contacts. If I ust the attach to Act! contacts it attaches the incoming one but does not do so automatically. Outgoing is attaching as it should. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello epalanb,

The settings in the Email Setup only apply to outgoing mail. In order to have incoming mail attach, you would need to setup an Outlook rule. Instructions for this are in the following Knowledgebase article:

How To Use Outlook® Rules To Attach E-mails To Contact History In ACT! by Sage 2009 (11.0) and Newer

Greig Hollister

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

Thanks so much for the reply. What you said to do worked perfectly. It is not exactly obvious what is needed to be done to make it work, but it is all good now.

Thanks again
