OLEDB Problems

[ Edited ]
I am trying to use the OLEDB and this is the message I am getting:

Automation Server can't create object

I followed the steps here:

Still having problems.

The part I don't understand is "You must set up an OLEDB connection".  How?  Is this something different than what the rest of the page is describing?

Never mind.  I forgot to put the password on the second screen.

Re: OLEDB Problems

Question:

I created a contact and saved the contact. I opened up the excel file to see if the contact was there and it's not.

Is there something missing?  Do I have to close ACT! for it to update?

What do i need to do?

Re: OLEDB Problems

I haven't tried that in the OLEDB... but in ACT!, you need to refresh to see recent additions.

What application are you using? Have you tried refreshing the view?

Re: OLEDB Problems

mike,

I don't know what you mean by "what application are you using",  but the refresh button does not send the info to Excel.

Any other ideas?

Re: OLEDB Problems

Even closing ACT! and reopening it doesn't add the new contact.

Re: OLEDB Problems

There's quite a few Google links under "oledb refresh excel" that might be worth looking at

Have you tried closing and re-opening Excel?

Re: OLEDB Problems

Mike,

Would anyone know how to do this step by step?  Can I get a hint?  I am not a programmer.

Also,  does the OLE DB allow information to be pushed back into ACT! also?
