Number of contacts in database keeps changing

I'm updating my database, so I'm deleting a lot of old contacts. However, something really strange keeps happening with the amount of contacts in my database. I looked at the number of contacts this morning while in "all records" lookup and it showed 5500, however, this is too low. We're around 6600, which is what it's showing right now. It's done this a few times today and it's making me nervous. Any idea what's going on? I have ACT 2011 Pro that's run from a shared database file on a server.

When you feel the record count is too low, what happens when you press f5 key or ACT! / View / Refresh ? Perhaps a prob with your pc or ACT! not refreshing? I'm just guessing. Cheers - FSB
