No Browse Box for Phone field - ACT Pro Ver16

Using ACT Pro V16...

No browse box is next to Phone field to allow formating the phone numbers. How do I format all the phone numbers for all the contacts? All appear now as just a string of 10 numbers all ran together. The My record field is the only onw with the correct formatting showing.

Re: No Browse Box for Phone field - ACT Pro Ver16

Thanks! I now have the browse box.

Is there a means to be able to do a global change of all the phone numbers in the database or does the change have to be by each number? I have nearly 600 contacts in the DB and am hoping I do not need to do individual changes manually for all the phone and fax numbers.

Thanks!

Sometimes, doing a mass-move of the field to a character field and back can fix it. Not sure if something has changed, the link to the actual article is broken:

But, this is the way back:

Thanks! I ended up exporting the db into an excel spreadsheet file. There I formatted all the columns of phone Numbers to phone, saved the file as a text file and then re imported this file into a new ACT db. Everything was fine after that.

Would be messy if you had a lot of history/notes, etc to keep linked....

BTW: The formatting wouldn't make much difference ... if you import from text file, it would have just formatted it in Act!
