New help recovering ACT v9 database

I have been running ACT v9 on my Win XP machine for a number of year and recently my Windows crashed.  The C drive is okay and I can see my ACTv9 files.  I just bought ACT Pro 2013 and will be installing it in my Win7 machine.  How do I go about converting the database on my Win XP drive on which the ACTv9 no longer works to the Win7/ACT 2013.  I do have a backup file of the ACTv9 db but it is about 2 month before the Win XP crashed so I would prefer to recover the more recent database.

Hi,

 

you would have to make sure that the ACT7 SQL Instance (Service)  is no more running, then you can copy all files (3 files + Folder showing the name of your database) to your new computer.

then i recommend to delete the pad file, and open ACT and select the option on the open window to use the ADF file, not the pad file. everything else should then be done by act, if your database is not corrupted due to the crash.

Thank you.  That seems to work and I can open the old database.
