New Laptop - Proper Sequence [ACT 2006 with upgrade to ACT 2009]

Old PC [XP Professional OS] - ACT 2006

New PC [XP Professional OS] - Which version should I install - 2006 or 2009? What is proper or suggested sequence? The KB articles I found didn't quite cover my situation.

I would like to be able to go ahead and install ACT 2009 on the new PC and then import/use my current database. think I will have to rename my database (eventually).

Thanks in advance!

I would be installing ACT!2009 onto the new comptuer.

On the old computer, save a backup of the ACT!2006 DB.

Copy this to the new computer and "restore as" with ACT!2009, this will allow you to upgrade it,k put it where you want and rename it all in one process.
