I am attempting to in stall ACT 2012 on my new Dell laptop. I copied the database files to the new laptop in the ACT folder in my documents. When I launch ACT 2012 and select my database it shows all my contacts, however it doesn't show the layout and the calendar from the previous databse.
Any idea on how to get the old database on the new laptop.

Don't copy the individual files, Use the ACT! backup and restore as.

When I tried to back up the database. I recieved this message:
Cannot insert duplicate key row in object sys.committab with unique index si_xdes_id. The duplicate key value is (3814661).
Any idea what to do here?

I dont have a problem with my Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. I have SQL Server 7 old the old laptop.
When I go to the MS link to download the SQL server 2008 I wouldn't allow me to do so.

the instance you have is called ACT7, but it is working ontop of a SQL2008 Server. As stated, you can fix your SQL by applying the Microsoft hotfx, or you can copy the data as described.
