New Error when making changes in Edit Mode - have to restart ACT to clear the error

I routinely get this error message when making quick changes to contacts while in the Edit Mode. I then have to close out of ACT and start the application over and then have to make many of the same recent changes, as opposed to just closing the error notice out. Is there an update/fix for this?

 

I can't paste the screenshot, but the error dialog box that pops up says: "Item has already been added. Key in disctionary: '678' Key being added: '678' 

 

When the error box pops up it then turns the Contacts View all white with a big red X outlining the region of the application.  I can email a picture of the screenshot if needed.
