Re: New Computer

Make a database backup on the old one. [Run database maintenance and make another backup unless you haven't done the maintenance regularly before]. Install Act! on the new computer. Transfer that zip-File from the old to the new computer or make it accessible via network. Then do a "restore as" on the new computer and you'll have cloned the database to the new pc. Make your configuration and you are done. And last but not least set up the scheduler to make automatic backups and maintenance preferably once a day.

Re: New Computer

Thank you, Jan.  Do I email the program download link from the old computer to the new one and install the program on the new computer that way?

Re: New Computer

I think we missed an important step in transferring Act! to the new computer.

After you install Act! on the new computer and restore the original database, and before registering and activating this new installation, you must open Act! and disable the old computer license.

To do this, open Act! on the old computer and use the Help - Register Act! In the window that will open, click Deactivate your license.

Can you confirm that?
