Hi all, I'm hoping someone on here with a much more thorough understanding of the ACT licensing situation could point me in the right direction. I spent 25+ minutes holding for customer service / tech support and finally decided to hang up and instead try my luck here. I have ACT 2008 installed and working quite well on my computer. Another individual in this office is considering purchasing it as well for similar database work. We could both pull off of each other's databases and at times even work off of each other's computers / work stations. Is this situation similar enough to installing on a secondary laptop or home computer that we could use my software or will we need to purchase an additional license? Thanks so much in advance. Lisa
No. The licenses are directly linked to the user account therefore to have two users to share a database you would need two licenses. FYI, the situation you described would require two licenses to be legal under any circumstances.
